4.1. Email mass messaging

The Email mass messaging module allows sending emails to a group of customers from a specified segment.

Preparing an email mailing consists of the following steps:

  1. Setting up A/B testing, if required.
  2. Filling in the message parameters. In case of A/B testing, fill in several message variants.
  3. Filling in the message settings.

Message Parameters

To create an email mass messaging, follow the steps below:

  • Specify the Sender name and Sender e-mail.
  • Enter the reply-to address, if replies or feedback from customers are expected. To do this, click the link and enter the email address in the text field.
  • Fill in the Subject and E-mail body. You can use the email templates. Text formatting option is available.
  • There is an option to attach files to emailы by clicking the Attach link below the message body field.
  • If there is a need, it is possible to add a UTM tag for tracking online marketing campaigns. If a UTM tag is set, it will be added to all links within the email.
  • After filling in all message parameters, you may send a test message. Click Test. In the window that opens, specify the recipient's email address and click Send.

Please note: when you specify your own e-mail address for a test message, the System generates an e-mail for a special test customer, whose e-mail is test@test.com.

This is done due to the fact that in the general case the Platform’s user may not have a customer profile in the database. So users are often surprised when they see test@test.com instead of their e-mail on the unsubscribe page.

Mailing Settings

All types of mailings have the same set of settings. To see a detailed description of mailings settings, please refer to a separate article.

Email Template

The platform allows to use ready-made templates. To do this, click the Choose template field and select a suitable template from the dropdown list.

  10. Align text to the center/left/right/width.

  12. Insert a variable. For example, select Customer's last name from the dropdown menu, and the recipient’s last name will automatically appear in the email text.
  13. Preview the email. You can see how the email will look on desktop, tablet, or mobile phone by clicking the corresponding icon in the top-right corner.
You can preview how the email will look like for a particular customer. To do this, enter the customer's full name/telephone number/e-mail address/local identifier (local_id) in the Client field. To ensure search accuracy, it is recommended to search by customer’s contact details or internal customer identifier.Client_id.png

Searching in the Client field is case-sensitive. The customer’s first and last names should be capitalized.
