Metrics


Metrics are values that Smart Communications calculates based on available data. You can use metrics in the following ways:

The table below provides explanations for some of the metrics used in Smart Communications.

Number of receiptsNumber of non-cancelled receipts.
Number of ordersNumber of non-cancelled orders.
Average receipt amountTotal value of all non-cancelled receipts divided by the number of non-cancelled receipts.
Median receipt amountMedian value of the receipt amount across all non-cancelled receipts.
Average number of items per receiptTotal number of items in all non-cancelled receipts divided by the number of non-cancelled receipts.
Category penetration in receiptsMeasures how frequently a product category appears in a customer’s receipts. Calculated per category as the ratio of receipts containing at least one item from the category to the customer’s total number of receipts. The value ranges from 0 to 1. For example, a value of 0.5 means the category appears in every second receipt.
Number of visitsNumber of distinct days on which the customer had at least one non-cancelled receipt. For example, if a customer had 2 receipts on one day and 1 receipt on another day within a month, the number of visits is 2.
Cumulative Customer Lifetime Value (CLTV)CLTV is calculated as the sum of all non-cancelled receipts over the last N months. The number of months (N) is configurable in System Settings under the parameter RFM Segment Calculation Period.
Date of birthFull birth date including year (e.g., “Date of birth = May 1, 2000” applies only to customers born exactly on that date).
BirthdayBirth date without the year. For example, “Birthday = May 1” applies to all customers born on May 1, regardless of birth year.
Birth monthThe month in which the customer was born.
Birth yearThe year in which the customer was born.
AgeCustomer’s age in full years.
